King Cobras Unable To Overcome Turnovers in Loss

The Men of Mayhem (2-0) were out for revenge on Sunday after giving up a 14 point halftime lead and falling to Ball So Hard University in Week 1. They took advantage of 5 first half interceptions thrown by the King Cobras and never looked back, defeating them 26-6. Team co-captain Anthony Bohan secured 4 of the 5 interceptions, earning him defensive player of the week honors.

“We feel real good about what we were able to do defensively,” said Bohan, “The season is young and we’ve got a lot of work left to do and rest assured we will get it done.”

Bohan recorded 1 tackle, to go along with his 4 picks on defense and a catch for 25 yards and a TD on offense.

The defense of the Men of Mayhem set the tone early, intercepting Cobras’ QB Quincy Dover 4 times, and after he was replaced in favor of Tyriek Walker, the Men of Mayhem intercepted him as well. The short fields set up by the interceptions allowed newly acquired QB Efrain Malave to torch the King Cobras defense in the first half for 2 touchdowns through the air and one on the ground, along with a pick six by co-captain Sean Chowdhury, his second in as many weeks, to put the King Cobras(1-1) in a 26-0 hole. QB and co-captain of the Cobras Jeffrey Jean stepped in at the helm, and while there were no more turnovers and the defense managed to get stops, it was too little too late. Jean managed to find co-captain Adrian Grandison for a 31 yard touchdown catch late in the game.

“I am proud of my guys for not giving up,” said Jean, “The turnovers are killers, but we shook them off and came together in the second half and played our hearts out. We just were not able to overcome the mistakes of the first half, but we’ll keep chipping away at the adversity and overcome it.”

Jean finished the game 5 of 8 for 71 yards and a touchdown, 2 rushes for 28 yards and 3 tackles on defense.
